Swim Lessons

Swim lessons will be canceled if thunder and lightning occurs. Due to rigid schedule, no make-up classes will be held due to inclement weather.


Tadpole (Level 1)

Tuesday: 4-4:30pm & 5:15-5:45pm

The Tadpole class teaches children about water safety, and how to do the prone glide, blowing bubbles, floating and kicking correctly in the water.

Pike Swim Lessons (Level 1)

This beginner-level class is for children who are uncomfortable in the water or inexperienced in swimming. The course will teach water safety, floating, the prone glide, kicking correctly, and begin introducing the arms in freestyle

Starfish and Dolphins (Levels 3-4)

Starfish: For children who are advanced in freestyle and backstroke. Children will learn the proper breathing technique for freestyle. They will also learn how to tread water, the butterfly kick, and the breaststroke kick.
Dolphin: Children will continue working on freestyle and proper breathing. They will also work on backstroke, and add the arms to butterfly and breaststroke. Participants will also learn how to dive.

Semi-Private Class

This class is for children who need extra attention in the water. Classes have one instructor with a maximum of two swimmers in the class. The class will be 40 minutes and will allow the instructor to work on individual strokes with each child. Spots fill up quickly so be sure to sign up as soon as possible

Water Aerobics Classes

Water aerobics may be cancelled due to inclement weather or holidays and will not be made up

Morning Water Aerobics

Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 9-10am
This class is for people that enjoy a great early morning workout. Some equipment is required but NOT provided. Detric Ridley is the instructor.
Registration deadline: 15th of each month.

Senior Water Aerobics

Lakeshore Natatorium
Stay active and healthy with Senior Water Aerobics. Exercising in water is good for those with arthritis since it is easier on the joints. Water aerobics is also beneficial for seniors since the water provides some resistance to help strengthen the muscles. Not only does it give a work out, it also gives seniors the opportunity to socialize and make new friends.

Competitive Swimming

Bluefin Swim Team

A year-round competitive traveling swim team, that provides quality coaching and a safe environment for all ages. Swimmers practice in training groups assigned by coaches based on their age and skill level. Swimmers are able to attend both home and travel meets and can move up in their training group as their age and skill levels rise.
Age Divisions: 6 and Under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15 and Over

Training Groups and Fees as of September 1, 2020
Bronze- Ages 5-12. $75 per month. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 6:15-7pm.
This is the introductory level of the Bluefin Swim Team. Swimmers will learn proper streamlines, all four competitive strokes/their appropriate turns, and competition dives. Two practices a week minimum attendance.
Pre-Age Group 1– Ages 5-12. $75 per month. Monday-Thursday 5:15-6:15pm.
This training group should know all four competitive strokes and turns. Swimmers learn new practice skills in this group and are highly encouraged to go to meets. Three practices a week minimum attendance.
Pre-Age Group 2– Ages 10-14. $75 per month. Monday-Thursday 5:15-6:15pm. This training group should know all four competitive strokes and turns. Swimmers learn new practice skills in this group and are highly encouraged to go to meets. Three practices a week minimum attendance.
Age Group 4– Ages 8-10. $85 per month. Monday-Thursday 4-5:15pm.
This training group should know all four competitive strokes and turns. Age Group 4 swimmers are at the higher end of their training group, regularly attend meets and have a rigorous training regimen. 2,000-3,000-yard average distance per practice. Three practices a week minimum attendance.
Age Group 3– Ages 8-10. $85 per month. Monday-Thursday 4-5:15pm.
This training group should know all four competitive strokes and turns. Age Group 3 swimmers practice at the same time as Age Group 4. Swimmers in this group should attend meets regularly and consistently. 2,500-3,500 yard average distance per practice. Must have a large commitment to the sport. Three practices a week minimum attendance.
Age Group 2– Ages 11-14. $90 per month. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 4:30-6pm, Friday 4:30-6pm, Wednesday 5-6:30am.
This training group should know all four competitive strokes and turns. Swimmers in this group have a large commitment to the sport and use a wide variety of training methods. Both early morning and afternoon practices are offered. 2,500-3,500 yard average distance per practice. Swimmers must attend meets regularly and consistently. Four practices a week minimum attendance.
Age Group 1– Ages 11-14. $100 per month. Monday-Thursday 5:30-7pm, Friday 4:30-6pm, Tuesday/Thursday 5-6:30am.
This training group should know all four competitive strokes and turns. Swimmers in this group are the highest performers on the team for their age. Must have a large commitment to the sport and leadership within their group and the team. Both early morning and evening practices are offered. 3,000-4,000 yard average distance per practice. Four practices a week minimum attendance.
Senior– Ages 14+. $115 per month. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 6-7:30pm, Friday 4:30-6pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 5-6:30am.
For high school age swimmers. Must have a knowledge of all four strokes and turns. Must attain a high commitment level and maturity level to swim in this group. Goals must be to be a leader of their high school team and on Bluefins as well. 4,000-5,000 yards average per practice. Both early morning and evening practices are offered. Five practices a week minimum attendance.


Junior Bluefin Swim School

The Junior Bluefin Program introduces swimmers swimming as a competitive sport without the initial financial investment of team fees. Swimmers gain confidence and experience while improving technique and endurance. This is a six – week program. Swimmers must be evaluated before joining the class. 678-390-6604
